The story begins with the discovery of a body in a ditch on the side of the road. The victim is a young woman named Sarah, and she has been brutally murdered. The RCMP is called in to investigate, and Detective Inspector Paul Griffin is assigned to the case.

Griffin is a seasoned detective with a reputation for solving difficult cases. He quickly begins to piece together the events leading up to Sarah's death. He learns that she was last seen getting on the nine o'clock bus to Brompton, a small town about an hour's drive away.

Griffin follows the bus route, interviewing passengers and witnesses. He learns that Sarah was seen talking to a man on the bus. The man got off the bus at the next stop, and Sarah continued on to Brompton.

Griffin eventually tracks down the man, who is a drifter named John Smith. Smith admits to talking to Sarah on the bus, but he denies killing her. He says that he got off the bus because he was feeling sick.

Griffin doesn't believe Smith's story. He believes that Smith killed Sarah and then fled the scene. He arrests Smith and charges him with murder.

The trial is a media circus, and the public is captivated by the case. The jury eventually finds Smith guilty of murder, and he is sentenced to life in prison.

But Griffin isn't convinced that he has the right man. He believes that there is more to the case than meets the eye. He continues to investigate, and he eventually uncovers a dark secret that could change everything.

Nine Clock Bus to Brompton is a gripping and suspenseful mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end. It is a must-read for fans of crime fiction.
