Keoki's big break comes when he is hired to play in a band that is backing up a beautiful actress named Leilani. Keoki and Leilani fall in love, but their relationship is soon tested by the pressures of fame and fortune. Leilani is a rising star, and she is constantly being pursued by wealthy and powerful men. Keoki, on the other hand, is a simple musician who is content to live a quiet life. As Leilani's career takes off, Keoki begins to feel insecure and jealous. He worries that she will leave him for someone else, and he starts to drink heavily.
One night, Keoki gets into a fight with another musician at a party. The fight escalates, and Keoki is badly injured. Leilani is devastated, and she breaks up with Keoki. Heartbroken and alone, Keoki returns to Hawaii to try to rebuild his life. But he is haunted by the memories of Leilani, and he can't seem to get over her.
Years later, Keoki is still struggling to come to terms with his past. He has given up music and is working as a fisherman. One day, he receives a letter from Leilani. She tells him that she has never forgotten him, and she wants to see him again. Keoki is overjoyed, and he travels to Hollywood to meet her.
Leilani is now a successful actress, but she is still the same kind and caring woman that Keoki fell in love with all those years ago. They rekindle their romance, and they are finally able to find happiness together.
