Synopsis

Seven Innings is a dystopian novel by Suzanne Collins, the author of the bestselling Hunger Games trilogy. The novel is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the United States has been ravaged by war and climate change. The survivors live in poverty and fear, and the government is oppressive and corrupt.

Katniss Everdeen is a 16-year-old girl who lives in District 12, one of the poorest districts in the country. Katniss is a skilled hunter and she provides for her family by selling the game she kills in the forest. One day, Katniss's younger sister, Primrose, is chosen to participate in the Hunger Games, a televised event in which 24 children are forced to fight to the death.

Katniss volunteers to take Primrose's place in the Hunger Games, and she is sent to the Capitol, where she will compete against other tributes from the different districts. The Hunger Games are a brutal and deadly event, and Katniss must use all of her skills and cunning to survive.
